  • Tomorrow Sustainable water for agriculture, livestock farming and remote locations.

Benefits

Why choose a wind-powered water pump?

Simple, robust engineering that works for you day after day, with no electricity bill and minimal impact on the environment.

100% renewable energy

Our green and yellow wind pumps run entirely off-grid on the pure power of the wind. They need neither an expensive mains connection nor polluting diesel fuel. Draw on a clean, unlimited and thoroughly crisis-proof source of energy straight from nature for your water supply.

No running costs

No electricity bill, no grid charges and no costly fuel for generators. Once the system is installed, the wind does the entire pumping job for you, completely free of charge. Make yourself independent of unpredictable energy prices and future price rises for good.

Extremely low maintenance

The long-lasting, purely mechanical design manages entirely without delicate electronics, circuit boards or digital sensors. One short check-and-grease appointment a year is all it takes to keep the system efficient, reliable and ready for work for decades.

Integrated storm protection

Maximum mechanical safety in any weather: if the wind gets too strong, the automatic storm protection turns the wheel out of the wind by itself and slows it down. An additional, sturdy hand brake at the foot of the tower gives you absolute safety during maintenance work.

Maximum harvest security

Safeguard your farm income and irrigate large arable areas, speciality crops or orchards straight from deep wells or storage tanks. Our system reliably protects your crops from ruinous harvest losses, even through the extreme droughts that can last for weeks in summer.

Better animal welfare

Guarantee your livestock fresh, cool drinking water around the clock, even on the most remote pastures and paddocks. The fully automatic system fills the troughs independently of the public grid and saves you the daily chore of hauling water barrels out by tractor.

Healthy water bodies

Keep the water level and the vital oxygen content in your fish ponds and rearing basins constant. Continuous mechanical circulation protects sensitive ecosystems and aquaculture from the pond turning and prevents dense mats of algae from forming.

Advertising you can see for miles

An authentic wind pump tower in traditional industrial design is a magnet for passers-by. Use that lively, nostalgic backdrop as an unmistakable advertising surface for your company logo. A likeable, green landmark that earns your business maximum attention in the region.

Process

Your guide: seven steps to your own wind-powered water pump

With our digital guide you can plan your off-grid water supply comfortably from home. You gather the data, we deliver a perfectly sized system.

  1. 1

Check your water needs & your well

Work out your daily water requirement and take a look at your water source. Whether it is an existing borehole, an open shaft well or a cistern: note down the exact depth and the diameter of the pipe. You simply enter these figures in our online form.

  2. 2

Watch the leaves & judge the wind

You do not need an expensive instrument. Just watch the trees at your site and judge the wind force yourself: are the leaves rustling and the thin twigs moving? Perfect. Our wind pumps start turning very easily, from wind force 3 on the official scale (a gentle breeze, approx. 4 m/s). We also cross-check your GPS coordinates against meteorological databases.

  3. 3

    A model chosen to fit

Which wind-powered water pump suits you depends precisely on your daily water requirement and your individual delivery head. In the detailed planning we of course adapt the system (tower height or wheel diameter, for example) flexibly to your personal needs and the conditions on site.

  4. 4

    Clarify planning permission

Official approval should be settled before construction starts. Different rules apply depending on the federal state, the location (inside or outside a built-up area) and the overall height of the tower. Smaller towers up to 10 or 15 metres are often exempt from approval or need only a simplified building permit. We supply the technical documents and data sheets you need for this.

  5. 5

    Order, payment & delivery

Once you have placed a binding order and your payment has arrived, your wind pump is professionally packed and sent on its way. We will of course let you know the exact delivery date well in advance. One thing to keep in mind: please make sure suitable machinery (e.g. a tractor with a front loader, a wheel loader or a forklift) is on your site to unload the delivery.

  6. 6

    Building the foundation on site

After you order, we send you a precise and easy-to-follow foundation and reinforcement plan. You can either pour the concrete foundation yourself or simply hand the plan to a local building contractor near you.

  7. 7

    Professional assembly by the manual

Assembling the wind-powered water pump follows a logical sequence: you simply put the sturdy system together piece by piece using our detailed instructions. With basic technical understanding and some practical experience in metalwork, the build is perfectly manageable. Depending on the model and the height of the tower, a local crane or front loader makes raising the heavy components considerably easier, faster and safer.

Technology

Robust industrial mechanics: 100% free energy

A mechanical wind pump, built without compromise to lift water on pure natural power alone, completely unmoved by power cuts, blackouts or diesel prices.

As soon as the wind reaches the minimum speed, the turning western windmill sets the shaft in motion. A solid crank drive and a robust connecting rod translate the rotation of the wheel directly and highly efficiently into a vertical up-and-down stroke.

The rotor aligns itself automatically and precisely with the current wind direction by means of the heavy tail vane. The continuous pump rod inside the lattice tower drives the piston pump sitting deep in the well. It draws in the groundwater and pushes it mechanically up a sturdy steel pipe to the surface, without a single electronic component or any complicated gearing.

Technical data at a glance

Minimal start-up From just 4 m/s wind speed

The highly efficient wheel starts turning automatically at wind force 3 (a gentle breeze) and begins lifting water mechanically straight away.

The piston pump 10 to 25 cm above the bottom of the well

The purely mechanical pump is positioned perfectly inside the well casing. Integrated, long-life non-return valves maintain constant water pressure.

Twofold safety Automatic storm protection & hand brake

In heavy summer storms the system protects itself by turning out of the wind. An additional mechanical hand brake at the foot of the tower secures the installation during maintenance work.

Premium materials Heavy industrial steel & optional hot-dip galvanising

The basic structure is made of solid, weatherproof quality steel built to last for decades. For maximum corrosion protection we also offer the complete installation in a hot-dip galvanised version.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions we are asked most often about wind-powered water pumps.

Very little. A single service per year is entirely enough to keep the system efficient and reliable for the long term. We recommend one simple visual check of the mechanical parts each year, plus greasing the grease nipples on the wind wheel itself with an ordinary grease gun. For your own safety, lock the wheel firmly with the hand brake before you climb the tower.

The wind-powered water pump lifts water economically from great depths, officially down to 90 metres, and thanks to integrated mechanical non-return valves it carries the water to considerable heights without any loss. The exact flow rate is calculated precisely during the planning phase to match your local well depth and your daily water requirement.

There are none. The pump runs purely on the free power of the wind, entirely without electricity and without diesel. Once the system has been installed, pumping your water costs you exactly €0.00 in ongoing energy costs, decade after decade.

Our wind-powered water pumps are extremely versatile and the perfect electricity-free solution for:

  • Agriculture & crop irrigation: irrigating large fields and crops.
  • Livestock & pasture farming: automatic, dependable drinking water for your herds.
  • Gardens & vegetable beds: environmentally friendly watering of kitchen gardens and small orchards.
  • Fish farming & aquaculture: constant water circulation and oxygen supply to prevent algae.
  • Fire-fighting ponds & fire protection: crisis-proof maintenance of statutory water reserves.
  • Remote locations (off-grid): self-sufficient water supply for mountain huts, hunting lodges or paddocks.
  • Decoration & visual advertising: a lively, traditional landmark for your company grounds.
  • Sports grounds & historic sites: caring for exclusive turf (golf and polo grounds) and filling castle moats.

The system becomes active from around 4 m/s, which corresponds to wind force 3 (a gentle breeze). A simple guide without a measuring device: if the leaves rustle and thin twigs move at your site, there is already enough wind for the pump to turn the rotation of the wheel into water lift.

Yes. Wind-powered water pumps can be installed and operated without any problem in regions with hard winters. With the right, simple precautions, frozen pipes are reliably avoided. The decisive measure is a frost-proof water transfer inside the well shaft, below the local frost line. Because the mechanical piston pump sits deep in the well casing, the entire system stays fully operational, ice-free and completely dependable even in extreme sub-zero temperatures.
