Water supply for the bird reserve

Verein Auring (the Auring association) runs the Hohenau-Ringelsdorf biological station, one of Austria's most important bird observatories, right on the border with Slovakia. A PE wind-powered water pump, model W 4012, supplies the wetlands there completely off-grid and with no electricity costs: ideal for a nature reserve with no mains connection.

The system keeps water levels in the ringing and landing pools stable even through dry summers, safeguarding the habitat for migratory birds and waterfowl.
